The Kunes come under control at last.

This job became necessary because once I got Kunekune pigs they made short work of a 100foot run of fencing between the big shed and the house. This fence was originally made with lengths of sheep netting. As the years went by, it had more netting added for security, but once the pigs came, the fence really became a battle-ground. I ended up putting in an assortment of items, like steel fencing standards, and fence posts laid in the bottom of the fence as tie-downs. All this was on an ad hoc basis as crises occurred, and of course, once one bolthole was blocked, they simply made another...

It had come to the point where the fence was virtually useless, and I had to contemplate a complete revamp or lose my sanity. These pictures show the progress of redoing the fence, which I did alone, over a period of three days in betwen my other routine farm tasks. It's a great success - once completed, it's retained the pigs and replaced a very messy piece of fencing with a nice tidy windbreak.
